What's Happening in Dublin this weekend (Jan 30th) - Free Events

A St.Brigid's day block buster!

After last week’s blockbuster TradFest edition, we’re sliding straight into another incredible lineup , this time in honour of Imbolc and Brigit Festival 2026, a celebration of renewal, creativity, and the fierce women who carry it all forward.

Instead of our usual 5 events, we’ve doubled it for this special festival editions! We hope you enjoy it.

From early morning swims to storytelling, craft workshops, community rituals and parades, there’s something deeply beautiful about how this city comes alive around Brigid’s Day.

Snámh Bhríde – Women’s Aid Cold Water Swim
Clontarf Baths | Sunday, 7:30am
Join Women’s Aid for a special Brigid’s Day sunrise swim in the historic Clontarf Baths. This event launches a national swim series to honour Brigid’s connection to water and support women across Ireland.

Learn to Skate with 50 First Skates
Saturday, 3:30pm
Roll into the weekend with this free beginner roller skating class. No judgement, no pressure, just pure good vibes. Limited spots, BYO skates (or message them to borrow a pair!).

Demonstration: Brigid’s Cross Making
National Botanic Gardens | Sunday, 11am & 3pm
Step into this hands-on workshop and learn the traditional craft of weaving a Brigid’s Cross from fresh rushes. Beautiful, grounding, and symbolic.

Fabulous Brídeóg: A Funky Doll-Making Workshop
The Amulet Gallery | Sunday, 12:30pm
Make your own modern take on a traditional Brídeóg doll with artist Tamara Fiabane. Reuse, repurpose, and play! Bring your creation to the Brigid parade later that day.

Touch real (replica) artefacts from early medieval Ireland, colour, read, and explore the world of Brigid and beyond.

Brigit 2026: Dublin City Celebrating Women Parade
Capel Street | Sunday, 3:30pm
The heart of the festival! An incredible street parade with dancers, puppets, cyclists, musicians, skaters, stilt-walkers, and goddess archetypes. A spectacle of movement, joy, resistance and ritual.
✨ Just turn up and feel the magic.

Brigid’s Way Imbolc Pilgrimage
The Sanctuary Holistic Centre | Monday, 9am
Walk the ancient way of Brigid from Dublin 7 to St Brigid’s Well in Clondalkin. With stories, stops, and a closing ritual led by Dr. Karen Ward.
Bring lunch, water, and good boots , and join a pilgrimage of presence. Ends with soup, cross-making and warmth.

VULVA STORIES II: CONNECTIONS – Exhibition
The Amulet Gallery | Fri 30 Jan – Mon 2 Feb
A bold, beautiful and deeply personal art show celebrating vulvas, stories, and community. Expect visual art, poetry, sound, and interactive exhibits. Now with a Community Wall for shared expression.

Celebrating Irish Women Writers – The Three Laureates
Pearse Street Library | Friday, 30 Jan
A special conversation with Ireland’s three literary laureates, with musical interludes and stories celebrating women’s writing.

Brigid and Beyond: The Women of Irish Folklore
National Library of Ireland | Friday, 1pm
Folklorist Glynnis Cowley shares the stories of Brigid , and other women in Irish myth who embody creativity, healing and power. A perfect lunchtime event.
