What's Happening in Dublin this weekend (Feb 20th) - Free Events
Brighter Days are Coming!

Howdy!
First things first… we’ve officially hit 550 subscribers.
Five hundred and fifty of you choosing to open this mail, read about what’s happening in Dublin, and show up to things.
I’m honestly so proud of the little community we’ve built here. It started as a simple way to share cool events, and now it feels like a proper movement of people who actually go out and do stuff.
If you’ve been enjoying these emails, I’ve one small ask:
👉 Share this with one friend this week.
Forward it on. Post it in a group chat. Tell someone who keeps saying “there’s nothing on in Dublin.” Let’s keep growing this thing together.
(Also… yes, there was no mail last week. More on that at the end 👀✈️)
Dance Day
Richmond Barracks | Saturday 21 February
A full day dedicated to dance for the dance-curious. Free taster workshops, film screenings, different styles — all curated by Artists in Residence Philippa Donnellan and Mia DiChiaro.
No experience needed. No pressure. Just movement and trying something new.
Some sessions need booking in advance, so check the schedule before heading in.
🧸 The Toy Library Swap & Play
Blanchardstown Library | Feb 21 | 12–2pm
Swap toys, save money, help the planet. Simple.
A lovely family-friendly event where kids can exchange pre-loved toys, play together, and learn about consuming a little differently. Spaces are limited (libraries get cosy fast), so make sure to register for each family member.
It’s part of The Toy Library, a growing community of families recirculating toys instead of constantly buying new ones. Honestly, genius.
📖 Weaving Words – A Shared Evening of Life & Writing
United Arts Club | Friday 7:30pm
An intimate evening with writers Celia de Fréine and Phyl Herbert. Readings, conversation, reflections on friendship and writing.
If you like thoughtful, literary evenings in beautiful spaces — this is your vibe.
If you enjoy Dublin Buzz and find these roundups useful, you can support the work over on Buy Me a Coffee. It helps cover the time spent digging out events, keeping things up to date, and making sure the good stuff stays free and easy to find. No pressure at all, just a simple way to back the project if it’s been helpful to you. |
Gauche Market – Dark Academia Edition
Wigwam | Sunday 12–5pm
A moody, bookish, dark-academia-themed market filled with handmade art, crafts, tarot readings, a free book swap, coffee from Vice, and food from Wigwam.
Free entry. Get a ticket for a cute sticker from Rotten Rouge.
It’s giving: tweed jackets, candlelight, poetry and strange little treasures.
✍️ Letter and Drink
Mary’s Bar & Hardware | Saturday 2pm
Dublin’s first social meetup for letter lovers.
If you have a favourite font (and strong opinions about it), doodle typography for fun, or just appreciate beautiful signage — this is for you.
Chat, draw, practice calligraphy, show work for critique — or just sip and scribble. No pressure, just nerdy good fun.
📚 Book Besties – Walk & Talk (Coffee Optional ☕)
Phoenix Park Tea Rooms | Sunday 10:30am
An easy Sunday stroll with fellow book lovers. Chat about what you’re reading, what you’re not finishing, and what’s on your TBR pile.
Come solo — very solo-friendly. Coffee afterwards is optional but encouraged.
Free to register (just helps with headcount).
✈️ And Now… Why There Was No Email Last Week
![]() | I escaped the rain. I’ve been off getting a bit of sun (very necessary in February), and I have to give a shoutout to Cheap Flights Ireland for helping me find a deal that didn’t destroy my bank account. If you’re feeling the grey skies creeping in, go have a scroll. Save a few quid. Get a bit of vitamin D. Even a short break can reset everything. Huge thanks to Cheap Flights Ireland for helping me find the sunshine, and thanks to you for sticking around while I was away. |
550 of you. That’s class.
Now go forward this to one friend and I’ll see you out there this weekend. Please share this event guide with your friends or family who might enjoy some of the events in here!
We’re working on something new to bring to the free events scene in Dublin and hope to publish soon.
If you have an event to share or to support The Dublin Buzz and have a shout out, you can contact me here!
