Hey all,
After the madness of Culture Night last week, we're back to our usual mix of things happening around Dublin.
And apparently we're getting some decent weather this weekend, so I'm taking that as a sign to spend a bit more time outside while we still can.
I've included the Hell Fire Club this week for exactly that reason. No event, no booking, no schedule. Just head up, get a walk in and enjoy one of the best views over Dublin.
Elsewhere we've got children's literature taking over Swords Castle, free live music, a museum tour, DJs at The Bernard Shaw and a community event at Hen's Teeth.

The Saints and Scholars of Ireland
Location: National Museum of Ireland, Kildare Street, Dublin 2
Date & Time: Saturday 26th September | 12pm
One for the history heads.
This free guided tour explores the arrival and influence of Christianity in Ireland through some of the museum's archaeological collection.
You'll hear about objects connected with St Patrick, St Brigid and St Colmcille, the development of writing in Early Medieval Ireland and the incredible preservation of the Faddan More Psalter.
There's no booking required, with places given out on a first-come, first-served basis.
Take a Trip to the Hell Fire Club
Location: Montpelier Hill, Dublin Mountains
Date & Time: Whenever suits you this weekend
Not technically an event, but hear me out.
We're supposed to get some decent weather this weekend, and there won't be too many more weekends where we can confidently say that.
The Hell Fire Club has a few forest walks around Montpelier Hill, with brilliant views looking back across Dublin.
The main forest road isn't particularly difficult either, so you don't need to arrive looking like you're about to tackle Everest.
Get outside. Enjoy the sun. We all know what's coming in a few months.

The Magic of Stories
Location: Swords Castle, Bridge Street, Swords

This is a brilliant one for families.
Fingal's Festival of Children's Literature is celebrating its fifth birthday with Swords Castle being taken over by authors, illustrators, art, music and theatre.
There are loads of activities happening throughout the castle, and the whole festival is free.
Gates open from 10am, with events beginning at 11am. Walk-ins are welcome subject to capacity, but booking ahead is encouraged.
Making Kin, Making Home
Location: Hen's Teeth, Blackpitts, Dublin 8
Date & Time: Friday 25th September | 3:30pm–4:30pm
Something a little different.
Aisteach is hosting a public community event looking at queer co-operative housing and what different ways of creating homes and communities could look like.
There'll be guest speakers followed by music and a social gathering. Nab a ticket here while you can.

Beatyard Presents: Governess & Gang
Location: The Bernard Shaw, Cross Guns Bridge, Dublin 9
Date & Time: Saturday 26th September | 4pm–10pm
If your idea of a Saturday involves less hiking and more DJs, here's your alternative.
Governess & Gang are back at The Bernard Shaw as part of the Beatyard day events, bringing together some of Dublin's selectors for six hours of tunes.
It starts at 4pm, so it's a nice afternoon into evening option.
Free but get a ticket
HLG Sunday Concert Series: Shadowlands
Location: Abbey Presbyterian Church, Parnell Square North, Dublin 1
Date & Time: Sunday 27th September | 1pm–2pm
And we'll finish with some Sunday afternoon music.
Shadowlands brings together Irish vocalist Lauren Kinsella, saxophone and clarinet from Robin Fincker, and piano for a mix of traditional Irish song, contemporary composition and improvisation.
An hour of live music in the Abbey Presbyterian Church, and it's completely free.
Not a bad way to spend a Sunday afternoon.

My vote is to make the most of the weather while we still have it.
Go for the walk. Sit outside. Wander around Swords Castle. Have a pint after.
We'll have plenty of time to complain about the rain soon enough.
