What's Happening in Dublin this Weekend - March 27th - Free Events
The evenings are stretching, the parks are waking up, and Dublin is starting to feel alive again.
Howdy Y’all,
We’re properly into that stretch of the year now where weekends start filling up again.
This week’s mix is a good one. A bit of culture, a bit of craft, some live music, and something for the Pokémon heads too. Nice balance of things you probably wouldn’t stumble across unless someone sent them your way (that’s me 👋).
This Weeks Picks
Legacy in the Library – Nell McCafferty Film Screening
Mega Pokémon Pop-Up – Hen’s Teeth
Serenity on a String – Live Classical Music
Needle Felting Workshop (Adults)
Off The Rails – ZedaFriends Event
Legacy in the Library – Nell McCafferty Film Screening
National Library of Ireland, Saturday 1pm
A special premiere screening celebrating the life and legacy of Nell McCafferty — journalist, activist, and one of Ireland’s most important voices.
This is one of those events that feels properly meaningful. A chance to sit back, learn something, and reflect on someone who shaped modern Ireland.
Mega Pokémon Pop-Up
Hen’s Teeth | Saturday
Back again and bigger.
Buy, sell, trade — binders everywhere, sealed products, merch, and a room full of people who definitely still remember their first starter Pokémon.
Whether you’re a collector or just there for nostalgia, it’s always a good buzz.
If you enjoy Dublin Buzz and find these roundups useful, you can support the work over on Buy Me a Coffee. It helps cover the time spent digging out events, keeping things up to date, and making sure the good stuff stays free and easy to find. No pressure at all, just a simple way to back the project if it’s been helpful to you. |
Serenity on a String – Classical Musicians Network
Dublin Unitarian Church, Sunday 2pm
A live performance blending guitar, violin and cello.
This one leans more on the calm, reflective side — perfect if you want to slow things down for an hour and let the music do its thing.
Needle Felting Workshop (Adults)
Lucan Library, Friday, 11am
If you’ve been looking for something hands-on and a bit different — this is it.
Learn the basics of needle felting and create something from scratch. No experience needed, just patience and a willingness to try something new.
Nice change of pace from the usual weekend plans.
Off The Rails – ZedaFriends (Edition One)
Academy Plaza Hotel, Saturday 12-5pm
New event series kicking off.
Expect music, energy and a crowd looking for something a bit different. Always nice to catch something from the very first edition — you never know what it turns into.

If you’re heading into the city this weekend, wander a bit. Some of the best festival moments are the ones you didn’t plan for.
And if you know someone who’s always saying “there’s nothing on in Dublin” — forward them this email.
I’ve published a longer form of guide with things that are always on and free to do, read the extended free to do in Dublin guide now
