What's Happening in Dublin this weekend (October 27th) - Scary Free Events

We’re rounded up five cool things happening this week in Dublin for Free!

Oooohhhhh it’s (almost) Halloween! It’s one of the best times of the year, trick or treaters, the start of the dark cosy nights, and such a magical spooky time! Some of the best memories I have of growing up is around halloween, so this week I’ve included some events on Tuesday, the 31st!

We’ve got 5 cool things to do in Dublin this weekend!

  • Bram Stoker Festival

  • Finglas Fright Night

  • Frankenstyle: Reduce, Reuse, Recycle

  • Fingal Festival of Fire

Halloween at Moore St Market

Thurs 26th to Sat 28th Oct - 11am - 5pm (5pm - 8.30pm Thursday)

Fancy a spooky stroll and along with Halloween bargains? Get down to Moore Street. Small independent businesses will be selling all kinds of goods from artisan candles, handmade jewellery, painted crafts and tote bags, original wood board ornaments, baked goods, natural skincare products, inclusive sizing sportswear, vintage clothing and more.

Hot food will be available too including sweet and savoury crepes, steaks, burgers, coffee, snacks etc. There will be live music from improvised performance music/art group Acid Granny on both days. Facepainting, juggling and hoola hoop performances will also take place on the street so get on down!

Bram Stoker Festival

City Wide - Mostly Free - All Weekend

Celebrating its 11th year, the Bram Stoker Festival is inspired by the legacy of one of Ireland's most iconic authors and his works.

You can experience outdoor theatre premieres, gothic and supernatural activities, circus performances in the night, comedy nights, choral events in libraries, themed banquets in crypts, parades, fire gardens, illuminated water-based installations, and special events for children such as discos, face-painting and workshops at Stokerland.

Do not miss the parade on Monday! It is one of the highlights every year!

Finglas Fright Night

31st October - Finglas Civic Centre

The Finglas Halloween Festival “Finglas Fright Night will take place once again on Halloween, 31st October between 6.30pm and 9pm at Finglas Civic Centre on Mellowes Road.

The family friendly event will feature its usual array of carnival rides, games, music, magic and dance. And as usual they will have a surprise or two in store for the families that go on the night!

Frankenstyle: Reduce, Reuse, Recycle

National Museum of Ireland - Sat 28th Oct - 12 Midday

Bring the National Museum of Ireland- Decorative Arts & History back from the dead by creating your very own artefact-inspired headwear.

Join Museum educators on a trip around the Museum, then use what you’ve discovered to create your own Hallowe'en mask from recycled materials. This workshop will take place on Saturday 28 October, at 12pm. Costumes optional, but encouraged!

Fingal Festival of Fire

Various Locations in Fingal - 7pm - Halloween 31st Oct

Fingal County Council have put together and incredible programme of celebrations this halloween for the full family! With music, disco dancing and fabulous fireworks! With four venues to choose from, you should try get along to one of them listed below.

Swords Town Park (Behind the Castle)
6:30 PM: Enjoy a Scary Concert
7:30 PM: Spectacular Fireworks Display

Malahide Castle
7:00 PM: Get ready for a Devilish Disco
7:30 PM: Marvel at the Fireworks

Bremore Castle, Balbriggan
7:00 PM: Join us for a Spooky Songs
7:30 PM: Experience the Fireworks

Millennium Park, Blanchardstown
7:00 PM: Groove at the Bone Shaking Boogie
7:30 PM: Mesmerising Fireworks Display

Don't forget to come dressed in your Halloween costume, and make sure to bring along a torch to light up the night!

It's going to be an enchanting evening of spooky fun and dazzling fireworks. See you there!
